Sustainable development: a challenge for European research

The conference  "Sustainable development: a challenge for European research" took place from 26 to 28 May 2009 in Brussels. The event was organised in cooperation with the Czech Presidency of the EU to celebrate the multiple ways through which European research contributes to global sustainable development: improved understanding of the environment, technological solutions, changing mindsets and behaviours, bearing in mind that it is also at the roots of unsustainable trends.
