Third ERC Advanced Grant to the Czech Republic

Tomas Jungwirth from the Institute of Physics AS CR was awarded the European Research Council (ERC) Advanced Grant. His work on “Spintronics based on relativistic phenomena in systems with zero magnetic moment“ will be supported € 2,5 million for 5 years.

The ERC promotes research at the frontiers of knowledge in all domains. This was the third Advanced Grant call since the ERC was launched in 2007 as a flagship component of the 7th Research Framework Programme. In this last call ERC is awarding some € 590 million to 266 established research leaders.
