Czech scientists’ discovery published in prestigious journal Blood

Researchers from the Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion (IHBT) and Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, have described the mechanism which helps to explain fibrinogen level impact on heart and vascular diseases. “Our research opens up the path to the development of new medicine that will prevent occurrence of thrombosis. New medicine will enable more focused and more targeted treatment of the haemocoagulation disorders”, told prof. Jan E. Dyr, head of the IHBT biochemistry research team.
