Role of the basic research in the process of the structuring ERA

The conference Role of the basic research in the process of the structuring ERA is organized under the auspices of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic in the framework of the Czech Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

The formation of the ERA is a process launched by the European Union at the beginning of the decade. This vision is periodically refined through various initiatives, recommendations and/or papers, such as the 'Vision 2020 for the ERA', which was prepared at the end of 2008. It underlined the importance of the effective creation of an area of freedom and exchange for researchers. This conference will contribute to the discussion.

Target participants include European and international research stakeholders, research organisations, science foundations, European Commission representatives and other policy makers.
